Updated: May 11, 2023

Pack your bags and head to the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Philadelphia is filled with history, outstanding sports venues, museums, theaters, restaurants, activities and more! Philadelphia is the perfect location to visit with family and/or friends. Below are my favorite things to do, places to eat, bars and more for a fabulous weekend trip to Philly!

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is a great place to visit anytime of the year. Philadelphia has fun city-wide activities as well as themed bars and restaurants for various holidays throughout the year and multiple sports teams competing throughout the seasons. During the warmer months enjoy picnics at the park, outdoor dining, sports events, beer gardens and concerts. In the colder months take advantage of the multiple ice skating rinks, Wintergarden, The German Christmas Village and bonfires that come fully equipped with hot cocoa and s'mores.

BEST RESTAURANTS IN PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYVLANIA:

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is filled with a long list of outstanding restaurants of varying cuisine. Below are my favorite restaurants in Philadelphia.

Buddakan - is a lavish dinner restaurant serving Asian cuisine. At the center of this upscale restaurant there is a larger-than-life Buddha statue. The food is delicious, service is first class and the drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts arrive promptly to the table.

El Vez - is an extraordinary Mexican restaurant with fabulous margaritas and guacamole. In addition to the great margaritas, the food is just as excellent. El Vez has one of the largest tequila selections in Philadelphia. The fun, red velvet booth seating makes it the perfect backdrop for a photo with friends!

McCormick & Schmick's - located across from City Hall is a phenomenal seafood and steak restaurant. McCormick & Schmick's has a great happy hour Mondays through Fridays from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM with discounted small bites and drinks.

Mixto Restaurante - is a Cuban, Latin American and Caribbean inspired cuisine themed restaurant. Mixto serves brunch, dinner and happy hour. If you are looking for a margarita, Mixto is the ultimate destination!

Morimoto - is an outstanding and upscale Japanese restaurant with the best sushi. Morimoto delivers top-tier service in a beautiful and sleek environment. In addition to the great and fresh sushi, the cocktails were just as exceptional.

Parc - is a French restaurant located in Rittenhouse Square with delicious breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. Parc is a very popular dining location so remember to make reservations in advance!

Rouge - situated in Rittenhouse Square is the perfect location for a girls' night out! The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing with a beautiful bar, mirrored tables and half booth seating. Rouge has great food and drinks.

The Love. - is a great venue for weekend brunch and/or lunch. This popular location serves superb drinks and food. The environment is cozy and welcoming and the staff is accommodating, knowledgeable and friendly.

If you are a cheesesteak fan... make sure to try both Pat's and Geno's to decide which one makes your favorite Philadelphia cheesesteak!

BEST ACTIVITIES AND THINGS TO DO IN PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA:

Liberty Bell - Learn about the history of the Liberty Bell at the Liberty Bell Center and view the various exhibits, short film and Liberty Bell.

Love Statue - The iconic Love Statue is located at John F. Kennedy Plaza, better known as LOVE Plaza, and is situated northwest of City Hall.

Museums - Visit the incredible museums from the Philadelphia Art Museum to the Museum of the American Revolution.

Night Life Philly - Philadelphia has more fun bars than one can count! Stop by the oldest bar in the city, McGillin's Olde Ale House. Another great bar to visit and enjoy a few drinks is Craftsman Row Saloon. Craftsman Row Saloon decorates the restaurant and bar for different holidays, seasons and events (i.e. Halloween, Christmas, Saint Patrick's Day, etc.)

Penn's Landing - is located along the Delaware River and has numerous attractions like ice skating, summer concerts, yoga, movies and more!

Rocky Statue - Climb the rocky steps and look out over the beautiful city of brotherly love and take a picture with the Rocky Statue. When the weather is nice, the rocky statue draws quite the line, so be prepared to wait a few minutes prior to getting your picture!

Sports - Philadelphia is home to the Eagles, Phillies, Flyers and 76ers. Catch a game with friends or family!

Theatre - Relax, unwind and enjoy a show at the Kimmel Performing Arts Center and Walnut Street Theatre. The Walnut Street Theatre was founded in 1808 and is the oldest theatre in America.

Happy Travels!

XOXO,

Katy
