Perusing the internet to find one of the most romantic restaurants in The United States to take your significant other out to dinner? Make a reservation at the Black Bass in Lumberville, Pennsylvania. This phenomenal, charming, elegant and chic restaurant has outstanding waterfront views of the Delaware River as well as delicious food and drinks. The Black Bass restaurant is the triple threat: has a beautiful and upbeat atmosphere with hospitable staff, picturesque views, and great food and drinks. Like many couples, this restaurant may became your annual anniversary dinner location.
Getting To The Black Bass
The Black Bass is a short drive from famous downtown New Hope, an hour and twenty minutes from Philadelphia and a little over an hour and a half from New York City. Not only does the Black Bass have a restaurant, but it is also a hotel. If you are making the trek in from out-of-state or far away, book a room at this cozy hotel.
A Restaurant Turned Movie Set
If the Black Bass looks familiar, but you can't put your finger on why, it is because the Black Bass was featured in Kevin Hart's movie, The Upside (click here to watch the trailer). This movie, based on a true story, is a must watch film! The movie was filmed in the Black Bass' Suite Loraine, the main dining room, and the river deck.
Things To Know Before Date Night
I highly recommend arriving early to dinner to enjoy drinks at one of the many bars at the Black Bass. The bartenders are incredibly friendly. When dining at the bar take in all of the historic elements around you. The Black Bass was built in the 1740s. Remember to make reservations in advance.
The Black Bass Menu
The Black Bass has an off the charts menu. For an appetizer, I highly recommend the burrata cheese with roasted cherry tomatoes served on grilled focaccia bread. For dinner I enjoy the Mediterranean Vegan Stuffed Eggplant with roasted cauliflower, Kalamata olives topped with fresh tomato basil sauce. Other favorites are the Bass't Grilled Filet Mignon served with Yukon Golden mashed potatoes and vegetables, the Stuffed Salmon served with corn pudding as well as the Seared Scallop which is plated with corn, baby limas, sweet peppers and Yukon Gold mashed potatoes. Remember to save room for the mouthwatering desserts. I enjoy the Salted Caramel Chocolate Tart which is filled with salted caramel and layered with chocolate ganache and sea salt as well as the outstanding Chocolate Devil's Food Cake which is layered with chocolate crunch mousse.

The Black Bass is open seven days a week for dinner from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, for lunch on Mondays through Saturdays from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm, Sunday brunch from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm as well as lite afternoon appetizers and meals everyday from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
