Mala Ocean Tavern, located in Lahaina, Maui, is a casual oceanfront dining venue. Mala has outstanding and aesthetically pleasing food and drinks as well as phenomenal service. Mala has a laid back atmosphere with a gorgeous waterview - you can't get any closer to the beach! It is a perfect location to enjoy dinner while watching the sunset. I highly recommend dining at Mala for a date night or with your family and requesting a table closest to the water.
Mala has a wide-ranging dinner menu as well as an extensive list of signature cocktails. For starters I enjoy the hummus served with feta, olives and pita as well as the crispy calamari. For dinner I order the Da Beet Box salad which arrives to the table in a beautiful display and is pictured above. The Da Beet Box salad includes hummus, micro greens, Moloka'i sweet potato chips and beet vinaigrette. If you are looking for a side dish, I like the fried brussels sprouts with aged balsamic. My three favorite cocktails are the Socks on the Beach which consists of Ocean Vodka, Ketel One Botanical Peach and Orange Blossom, fresh squeezed orange juice, lime hibiscus tea and orange blossom water, The Ube Bang Bang which is made of Kula Organic Rum, pineapple, coconut cream Ube, caramelized banana and cinnamon as well as The Makai Tai which includes Kula Organic Rum, RumHaven, Gifford Orgeat Cointreau, lime, dark rum, and Orange-Pineapple P.O.G. Foam.
Mala is open daily for brunch from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, happy hour with live music from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and dinner from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, Mala is open from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM for late night food and drinks. The fun atmosphere, stunning views and delicious food and cocktails make it a must try dining experience while on your vacation in Maui, Hawaii!
