The Ultimate Spring Bucket List

Updated: May 11, 2023

Spring is a fun time for outdoor activities, making floral arrangements, baking delicious sweet treats and playing sports. As the warm weather returns and with spring in the air, I have complied a list of the top twenty bucket list items for spring.

Spring Bucket List:

1. Spend a Day at the Beach - Pack your beach bag, beach chair, towel, sweater and book and head to the beach on a warm spring day. The relaxing and peaceful atmosphere, the sound of the ocean waves crashing onto shore and the sun radiating down on the sand makes it an excellent location to unwind and read an enticing book without the summer crowds.

2. Plant Flowers - Pick-up flowers at your local nursery to plant in your garden and/or flower pots. The beautiful flowers will bring new life and beauty to your home. I love to purchase hydrangeas for the spring season which last throughout the summer and into the beginning of fall. My other favorite spring flowers to plant are Bluebells, Forget-Me-Nots, Peonies and Lenten Roses.

3. Have a Picnic - Make healthy snacks, purchase a bottle of wine and fill your picnic basket with the delicious small bites, a board game, book and your music speaker. Spend the afternoon at a park enjoying the company of friends and/or family all while sitting on a picnic blanket, taking in the sights, hearing the birds chirp, snacking, playing games and making fun memories!

4. Bake a Carrot Cake - Spring is the best time of the year to bake a carrot cake! Go to your local farmer's market to pick-up fresh ingredients for your delicious sweet treat. After your cake is made, share it with your loved ones over a glass of dessert wine. Go the extra mile and bake a carrot cake for your family members or neighbors and deliver the homemade goodie to their doorstep!

5. Go Golfing - Break out the golf clubs, hit the driving range and golf course and spend time outside. Golfing is a great way to unwind, socialize and bask in the spring sun rays. Spring is the perfect time to sharpen your driving, chipping and putting shots before the summer season.

6. Outdoor Lunch with Friends - is a fabulous way to spend time outside and get caught up with friends. Pick a restaurant with a scenic view and outdoor seating. During the spring I enjoy restaurants with a water view (i.e. the ocean or a river). Another great spring outdoor lunch location is on a golf course. It is fun to watch the golfers tee off.

7. Play Tennis - Put on your fun tennis outfit, gather your racket, tennis balls, visor and water bottle and head to the courts to meet your friends for a round of tennis. This activity is a great way to move your body while having fun!

8. Outdoor Movie Night - on a warm spring evening with a bonfire, s'mores kit and great company is a recipe for an enjoyable and laid back night with friends and family. Pick out a movie, grab the blankets, snacks and drinks for a fun night spent outside by the fire.

9. Read a Book in a Hammock - Find a warm spring day and a great book and lay outside on the hammock while taking in the warmth from the sun and the sounds of nature. This is a great way to relax, disconnect from your phone and be in the present moment.

10. Go on a Bike Ride - Explore new local bike trails in your community. Local travel and exploration brings new life to your stomping grounds. I love to find new biking, hiking and walking trails locally! This adventure is a fabulous way to familiarize yourself with surrounding areas.

11. Take a Nature Walk - Put on your walking shoes and take a stroll through town or on a scenic trail. Breathe in the fresh air and take in the sights of the bloomed flowers all while completing your daily steps.

12. Go out for Frozen Yogurt - Gather your friends and head to your favorite ice cream parlor for a delicious frozen sweet treat. This is a fun way to start the warm weather season, be outside, laugh with friends and enjoy each other's company.

13. Outdoor Yoga and Meditation - Bring your workout mat outside and listen to nature while you practice yoga and meditation. Enjoy the peace and serenity of outdoor yoga and meditation, especially in the morning. This is a great way to start your day!

14. Play Mini Golf - Test your putting skills as you venture onto the mini golf course. Mini Golf is a great family and friends activity that brings out a little competition. Create a fun mini golf afternoon and head to the ice cream parlor after the game for a sweet treat - loser buys everyone ice cream!

15. See the Cherry Blossom Trees - Spring has sprung and so have the beautiful Cherry Blossom trees. I love to visit the Cherry Blossom Trees in Washington, D.C. at the Tidal Basin. These gorgeous trees are a must see during spring!

16. Make a fun Floral Arrangement - Head to your local grocery store and pick out different flowers to make various floral arrangements. To spruce up your home for spring, make a few different arrangements - one for your kitchen, bedroom, living room and bathroom. This is a great way to bring cheer and the spring feel to your home.

17. Bake Lemon Cake - 'Tis the season of lemon desserts. Bake a delicious lemon cake and serve it with a tasty riesling. Invite your friends over to enjoy the delightful spring cake.

18. Go to the Farmers Market - Stop by your local farmer's market to pick-up fresh fruits and vegetables. Enjoy the different stands within the farmer's market and try out the different spring goodies.

19. Outdoor Wine Tasting - Spend an afternoon at a vineyard with friends sampling new wines and small bites. Break out your best winery outfit as an obligatory vineyard afternoon photo with your friends is mandatory. This is an excellent way to spend time with friends, enjoy an upbeat environment, be outside and try new wines!

20. Play Pickleball - Spring is a great time to play pickleball and enjoy the warm weather while getting exercise and spending time with friends. Put on your pickleball outfit, grab your pickleball paddle and balls and head to the court!

Happy Spring!
